Rules for CHIPZI

CHIPZI has lots of ways to play. Some speed games, some non-speed games. Find your favorite below!

SETUP:

Set-up is the same for all CHIPZI games. Start with all chips face-down and mixed-up in the center of the table.

These first 8 games are all about speed. Flip fast to win!

COLOR CHIPZI

COLOR CHIPZI

Be the first player to find and collect seven chips all of the same color.

1. Start with all the chips face-down and mixed-up in the center of the table.

2. All players announce which color they’re going for. (Everyone should choose a different color.)

3. Someone says “Go” and everyone starts flipping over chips as fast as they can, trying to find and collect their color. (Players must immediately flip chips that they are NOT collecting back over so the chips are face-down.)

4. The first player to collect all seven of their chips and shout “CHIPZI” wins.

NUMBER CHIPZI

NUMBER CHIPZI

Be the first player to find and collect seven chips all of the same number.

This game is just like Color CHIPZI, but everyone chooses and collects chips of a specific number. Ready…“ Go!”

COUNT DOWN CHIPZI

COUNTDOWN CHIPZI

Now you’re trying to be the first to find and collect seven chips in descending order… 7,6,5,4,3,2,1.

1. Same gameplay as before, but now players must first find a #7 chip, followed by a #6 chip, then a #5 chip…
all the way down to a #1 chip. (The seven chips DO NOT have to be the same color.)

2. The first player to collect all seven chips in descending order and shout “CHIPZI” wins.

Remember: Flip those chips back over face-down if you’re not collecting them.

PERFECT CHIPZI

In this game you need to pay attention to colors AND numbers.

The first player to find seven chips that have no repeat colors or repeat numbers and shout “CHIPZI” wins!
(For example: Red 1, Blue 2, Green 3, Orange 4, Purple 5, Yellow 6, Pink 7.)

BLITZ CHIPZI

BLITZ CHIPZI

The object is to find and collect the most chips.

1. Players agree on which one color everyone must start looking for. (For example, in the first round, everyone
might look for green chips.)

2. Someone says “Go” and everyone immediately tries to find as many chips of that one color as they can.

3. Once all seven chips of that color have been found, players mix up the remaining chips and choose another color.

4. Play repeats like this until there are just seven chips of one color left.

5. Players count how many chips they have collected and the player with the most chips wins!

Remember: Flip those chips back over face-down if you’re not collecting them.

TARGET CHIPZI

TARGET CHIPZI

If you know how to add, you know how to win.

1. Someone chooses a target number between 15 and 30, then someone says “Go.”

2. Everyone quickly flips over chips, and the first player to add up the numbers on their chips to hit the target
number and shout “CHIPZI” wins!

PLAY 8 CHIPZI

It’s all about finding pairs of chips that add up to 8.

1. Someone says “Go” and everyone starts flipping over chips, finding and collecting pairs of chips that add
up to 8. (For example, 7+1, 6+2, 5+3, 4+4)

2. Play ends when there are no more chips to be paired up, and the player with the most pairs wins!

MISSING CHIPZI

MISSING CHIPZI

This game is a little different. Now you want to be the first player to figure out which chip is missing.

1. Start with all the chips face-down and mixed-up in the center of the table.

2. One chip is slid off to the side and kept face-down so that nobody knows which chip it is.

3. Someone says “Go” and everyone starts quickly flipping over the chips so that they are all face-up.

4. Once all the chips are face-up, everyone immediately tries to figure out which is the missing chip.

5. As soon as a player thinks they know, they shout out the color and the number of the chip, “Blue 3!” for example.

6. That player then peeks at the missing chip to see if they’re correct. If they are correct, they win the game.
But if they’re wrong, they’re out and play continues until another player figures it out correctly.

Here’s a twist: Play again, but now remove two chips! (Players must guess BOTH chips correctly to win.)

Here are 2 non-speed games with some fun twists!

Remember: Start with all the chips face-down and mixed up in the center of the table.

KNOCKOUT CHIPZI

KNOCKOUT CHIPZI

The goal here is to avoid flipping over the Knockout chip. There will be one loser and lots of winners!

1. Players decide which chip will be the Knockout chip. (Let’s say the Yellow 4, for example.)

2. One player goes first and flips over a single chip. Now one of three things will happen:

A. If the player flips over a chip that is both a different color and a different number than the Knockout chip,
that’s good news for that player and their turn is over. Play then passes to the left.

B. If the player flips over a chip that is either the same color as the Knockout chip (a yellow chip, in this case)
or the same number as the Knockout chip (a #4 chip, in this case) then that player’s turn is NOT over and
the player must flip over another chip and possibly another and another until they flip a chip that is both a
different color and a different number than the Knockout chip.

C. If the player flips over the Knockout chip, they immediately lose, and everyone else wins!

Important: When players flip over chips they should leave them face-up on the table.

MEMORY CHIPZI

MEMORY CHIPZI

The object is to find and collect matching chips. A CHIPZI twist on the classic game of Memory!

1. The first player flips over two chips.

2. If the player’s two chips have matching colors (Red 3 and Red 6, for example) or matching numbers
(Pink 2 and Blue 2, for example), the player keeps that pair and flips over two more chips. HOWEVER, if the
two chips have neither matching colors or numbers (Green 4 and Pink 7, for example) the player’s turn is over
and they flip those two chips back over so they are again face-down. Play passes to their left.

3. Play continues like this until all the chips are gone or there are no more matches.

4. The player with the most matches wins.

Important: Players may keep flipping over two new chips as long as their two previous chips matched.
